They give you swatches, and the hexadecimal color number used by programmers and designers to instruct the computer what to replicate.
An interesting alternative is Name That Color, which allows you to make a color in its color wheel. It immediately generates the hexadecimal name for it, or the nearest equivalent. The equivalent is also shown, in case you don't like it.
